Spider-Man Tom Holland Meets Iron-Man Robert Downey Jr Post Exiting MCU And We Can't Keep Calm, Nor Can Mark Ruffalo
Post Spider-Man's exit from Marvel Cinematic Universe, here's something that will make you happy.
Spider-Man is no more a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks to the differences between Disney and Sony over profit-sharing, Spider-Man is out of the picture. Sony has the rights to Spider-Man character while Disney is the parent company of Marvel. However, this split hasn't bought any change in the equation that our superheroes share. Tom Holland who plays Spider-Man is as good a friend to Iron-Man Robert Downey Jr as he was previously. The recent pictures shared on social media are proof of it.
Tom Holland met Robert Downey Jr and clicked some goofy pictures. In one of the pictures, we even see them holding action figures of each other's characters. While sharing the picture, Tom wrote, "We did it Mr Stark". It is the famous line that he says when Iron-Man dies in Avengers: Endgame post saving the world. The image indeed made their fans emotional including The Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo who put up three sad emojis in the comment. Spider-Man, you'll be missed!
While revealing about this decision, Sony Pictures in a statement stated, "We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given [boss Kevin Feige] – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue."
